Mrs Parker's Science W/C: 5th January 2021

Mrs Parker - 05 Jan 2021

Happy New Year Giants! I hope that you all had a lovely Christmas holiday.

This half-term we are starting our new Science topic - Animals Including Humans.

This is the knowledge organiser for our topic which has on it all the vocabulary you will need and the key facts.
  -Knowledge Organiser Animals Including Humans.pdf-

Lesson Objective
  • To describe how animals change as they grow.

  -Animal Babies PowerPoint.pptx-
Look at the PowerPoint at a range of baby mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles, asking the children to identify them where they can.

Read the information on the PPT to explain how mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles are born, and how they change as they grow.

Choose one of these tasks to complete (or both if you would like!):
1. Complete the Animals and Their Young Matching Cards Activity, matching the animal babies with their parents, and labelling the animals and babies with their names.
-Animals and Their Young Matching Cards Images.pdf-

2. Fill in the How Animals Grow Activity Sheet, drawing an animal of your choice as a baby and as an adult, and writing a description of how the animal grows.
  -How Animals Grow.pdf-

Please support your child by helping them write/scribing for them if they need it. Alternatively, they can use this word mat for help with spellings and ideas.
