English and Maths Home learning WC 25th January 2021

19 Jan 2021

Hello Pegasus!

We hope you are all still keeping safe and well. You have all been amazing over the past 3 weeks. You have shown such resilience and we have loved receiving all of your work so far.

We hope that the extra zoom sessions where we are helping to explain your learning, meaning that you are needing less help from your grown-ups and are able to get on with your work more independently.

Please note that the live lessons at 9.40am this week will all be Maths. English are the recorded sessions from Mrs Considine as outlined below. As well as the work below there is a Sumdog competition taking place this week and it would be great if you get the chance to take part in it.

Please remember if you need anything you can contact us on teams of ask your grown-ups to send us an email.
Keep up the great work!

Mrs Almack & Miss Galton smiley

Maths - Money

This week we begin a new topic of Money in Maths. We will begin the week with recapping counting money in pence and pounds and then as the week progresses begin to focus on converting pounds and pence and adding money. We have added the video links, flashback 4, true and false and the activities for each day. I have also added some new problem solving and reasoning questions as an extra challenge if you would like to have a go at them.

Please note that the problem solving and reasoning activities are meant to be for the whole unit so if you do choose to have a go at these please don’t do too many in one go.

English - Writing

For the next two weeks, we have the amazing Mrs Considine teaching us through her live lessons on her YouTube channel. She will work through a unit of sentence stacking focussing on the book, 'The day the Crayons Quit'.

I know how much you loved working on this story in year 2, and I believe you can create some brilliant year 3 work based on this fabulous book! I cannot wait to see what you create!

The live sessions for this run from 9.45-10.45 each morning and are saved onto the youtube page to access when needed.  As we will be on our live zoom call at that time, I would like you to access the recordings as I have set out below. I have emailed your grown ups to explain this in more detail.

Monday - Lesson one
Tuesday - Lesson two
Wednesday - Lesson three
Thursday - Lesson four
Friday - Lesson five
