English and Maths Home learning WC 1st February 2021

26 Jan 2021

Hello Pegasus!

We can’t believe we are already on week 5 of home learning. It has been a very different start to the new year than we were expecting but you have all been amazing. Keep up the hard work.

The timetable is very busy but as always just do what you can and when you can. Please remember it is only a suggested timetable so please adapt so it best fits in with your family and your routine.

We have loved seeing you all on the zoom sessions where we are helping to explain your learning and we hope that you are now completing your work more independently.

Please note that, as last week, the live lessons at 9.40am will all be Maths. English continues to be the recorded sessions from Mrs Considine as outlined below.

Please remember if you need anything you can contact us on teams of ask your grown-ups to send us an email.
Keep up the great work!

Mrs Almack & Miss Galton smiley

Maths – Money & Statistics

The beginning of this week we will come to the end of our short topic on Money. On Wednesday we will then begin our final focus for this half term of Statistics.
Please have a go at the Flashback 4 activity before each live session so we can begin with going through the answers.

Please note that the problem solving and reasoning activities are meant to be for the whole unit so if you do choose to have a go at these please don’t do too many in one go.

English - Writing

For the this week, we continue to have the amazing Mrs Considine teaching us through her live lessons on her YouTube channel. This continues to be sentence stacking focussing on the book, 'The day the Crayons Quit'.

I am aware that these sessions are lasting a little over an hour and that some of you find this too much. It is fine to split each lesson into smaller chunks (For example, completing half the lesson on one day, and then carrying on with that same lesson the next.) The really important thing is that the lessons are completed in the correct order otherwise it will not make sense! Work at your own pace and upload your writing onto TEAMS each time you complete some more.

If you are following the suggested timetable, here it is for this week. (Remember - It is most important that you do not skip any sessions!)

Monday - Lesson six
Tuesday - Lesson seven
Wednesday - Lesson eight
Thursday -
Friday -

I know that most of you are still working through the JC lessons - which is absolutely fine! Please keep going with it at your own pace.
For the few who have finished 'The day the crayons quit' writing, please write a simple diary entry of your day and submit to TEAMS.
