Monday: Art Live lesson @ 1.15pm

LO: To compare the paint effects of Hokusai and JM Turner.

This week our session will have more of a focus on the work by Hokusai. The Great Wave is a story by Véronique Massenot and the illustrations in the story are inspired by the famous Japanese artist Hokusai.

You can listen to the story on the following link The Great Wave Read Aloud - YouTube

During the live lesson I will be going through recreating the painting ‘the great wave’ step by step. It would be great if you could have a go at the same time. To be able to do this please make sure you have a plain piece of paper, pencil, black pen or crayon and paints (or whatever you have at home) to add some colour to your picture with you on the zoom.

Please do not worry if you cannot make the zoom the following PowerPoint also goes through the step by step instructions so you can still have a go at creating your painting.

Tuesday: Science Live lesson @ 1.15pm
This week we will move our learning on to look at soil formation. There are some practical elements to the activity I would like you to have a go at this week however I have included an option that is not practical if you are unable to complete this.

LO: To understand and explain how soil is formed.

I will be working through a powerpoint during the live session.
If you are unable to attend the live session please do not worry. Just work your way through the  PowerPoint at the end of the PowerPoint you will see there are 3 activity options. Activity option 3 can be found below, options 1 & 2 the instructions are on the PowerPoint. You only need to have a go at one of the activities, the choice is yours.

WELLBEING WEDNESDAY - No afternoon zooms today

Children’s Mental Health Week is taking place on 1-7 February 2021. This year's theme is

‘Express Yourself.’ Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts,

or ideas, through creativity. This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and

drama, photography and film, and doing activities that make you feel good.

I would like to invite the children to express themselves on Wednesday by wearing brightly coloured clothes, their hair in a style of their choice and even face paint if they would like to. Worships sessions will be wellbeing based. There will be no zooms or formal lessons timetabled for Wednesday afternoon.

Here are some suggesions of things that you can do with your wellbeing afternoon.
