Home learning WC 4th May 2021

03 May 2021

*Please note that this work is ony for children who are having to self-isolate at home and are well enough to work, or do not have symptoms of Covid-19/Coronavirus - this is not learning for children who are in school.*

The activities below should fit in with what we are doing in school. So when you return you are able to continue with the learning in school.

English

For English this week, we will continue to write an alternative ending to 'The real story of the three little pigs'.

Tuesday -
Recap the story map that has been written so far. Today you will need to complete the story map with your own ending. Does the third pig make friends with the wolf? Does he end up getting his cup of sugar? Does the third pig scare the wolf away? Use your imagination and draw to complete your story map.

Wednesday -
Complete the quiz on end of sentence punctuation to recap our learning on different punctuation. Keep this in mind when you come to complete todays task which is to use your story map to write your own story about the 3 pigs. Keep in mind our learning about:
Capital letters and end of sentence punctuation.
Paragraphs
Speech marks.

Thursday -
Today you will need to edit your story before publishing it. I am looking for:
Punctuation and capitals,
Use of paragraphs
Use of speech marks
and an imaginitive alternative ending.

Friday -
In class novel we will be reading chapter 2 and 3 and completing comprehension questions about this. If you need a copy of the novel to complete this at home, please let me know.
