This Week's Art
Mr Butler - 10 Jul 2020
Good morning everyone,
I hope you are all well. This half term we have been develop our confidence talking about and analysing (looking at) different works of art. Here is the last work of art to look at. Things to discuss include: What can you see in the art? Why do you think it is there? How do you think the artist created this? What do you like or dislike about the art?
This week's art is called 'Movement in Squares' by Bridget Riley. Click on the link to find out more about her.

This is a style of art called 'Op Art'. 'Op' stands for optical illusion which means playing tricks with your eyes. I've always been fascinated with op art, it's a bit like magic! Look at the picture carefully for a few seconds, what happens? How do you think Riley created this? Can you have a go at your own op art - I would love to see what you come up with.
It was great to see you all yesterday. I had a brilliant time - I hope you did too! Don't forget your challenge to find out what a centaur is and to send me a drawing of a centaur so that we can make a dispaly in our new class room.
Have a good weekend,
Mr Butler
