Wider Curriculum - WC 22nd June 2020

20 Jun 2020

Hi 5/6F,

I hope you all had a lovely week despite the ever changing weather (I really thought last week was going to be more settled). It does, however, look like the sun will be out once again this week so, hopefully, we’ll all be able to spend plenty of time outside enjoying the fresh air.

I have included your activities below so hopefully you will enjoy learning about all the different things in store this week. I would love to see some photos of any of the outdoor art you have been doing – I have had a couple sent to me which have been lovely.

Take care and stay safe,

Mrs Foster smiley
LO: To describe how living things are classified into groups.

This week the learning is all about the system used to classify living things into groups so that they can be identified. The PowerPoint will go through the different groups that living things can be organised into and how they are worked out. For the final activity you may need to carry out some of your own research from secondary sources like the internet or any books you might have at home.

LO: To explain how to prepare for an earthquake.

This week is all about preparing for an earthquake and the Richter Scale. You will learn lots of important information from the presentation and the attached activities. Have a go at creating a storyboard to show the preparation that people need to go through when an earthquake is imminent.

LO: To develop artistic skills using nature.

This week is all about bugs, bees and butterflies. I am really hoping, that with the lovely weather, you manage to create some lovely pieces of art.

LO: To understand the importance of the Qur’an in Muslim life.

I have attached a PowerPoint below which explains the importance of the Qur’an to Muslims. There is also a video clip for you to watch too. After this I would like you to have a go at answering the quiz questions straight into your purple books. Please don’t write out what the questions say – just answer in full, detailed sentences.

I have attached the link again to the BBC bitesize page as I think quite a few of you are enjoying working through the activities.

Again, I think these are great for you to continue to develop your French skills so I have added the link. If you carry out some of the learning, use the title of the lesson as your LO.
