English and Maths - WC 29th June 2020

26 Jun 2020

Hi Phoenix,

Three weeks left!crying

Not quite sure where the time is going, but it certainly is flying by. It’s going to be great having the opportunity to be in school more with the majority of you from this week – I really can’t wait to teach you all maths again!

I have, again, used some ideas linked to the work we are doing around transition for your English. Please try to remember to send me a photo of any of the work you have done – it would be really nice to see.

Remember to be kind to your grown-ups whilst you’re at home and keep smiling!

Take care and stay safe,

Mrs Foster smiley

English

Activity 1
LO: To recommend a book or movie.

This week I’d love you to get into persuasion and think about a book or movie that you love. Once you’ve done that, have a go at writing a letter to a friend to explain why they should read/watch it. You must be detailed and include different paragraphs for each point you make. Don’t forget how to start and end a letter to a friend – informal.

Activity 2
LO: To think about reactions.

Since the first activity is a longer one, I thought I’d give you a shorted second activity. I would like to think about and then write down three things you would do if you saw someone being unkind to someone else.

Maths

This week is all about the four quadrant, translation and reflection. Useful vocabulary this week will be – quadrant, co-ordinates, axis, x, y, negative, positive, brackets, comma, point, plot

I have also attached the flashback 4  – just remember the rules about not letting yourself see the answers before you start.
