The Arts

13 Sep 2019

As a school we are committed to developing the children's skills and enjoyment across of a range of arts activites, as both part of the taught curriculum and also across all areas fo school life.

A minimum of 12% curriculum time is spent on the Arts across music, art, dance and drama. We also run a wide range of after school clubs related to the arts.

The school has a tradition of presenting performances throughout the year to parents, Governors and the wider community, for example, Christmas and whole Key Stage 2 performance in the summer. Arts days or events are organised where children and staff develop skills and understanding by working with professionals for example Harlow Carr mural project and Harrogate Theatre.

The children have worked alongside Northern Ballet and The Lock In Dance group.

Our choir has taken part in a wide range of concerts, including The Young Voices Concert at Sheffield Arena and The Royal Hall Charity Concert which the school leads. The choirs has an excellent reputation in the wider community.
