Music

Music is a unique way of communicating that can inspire and motivate children. It gives an opportunity for personal expression and it can play an important part in the personal development of an individual. Music reflects our culture and society and so the teaching and learning of music enables children to better understand the world they live in. Besides being a creative and enjoyable activity, music can be a highly academic and demanding subject. It is also important in helping children feel part of a community. Music is a subject that has always played a key role at Killinghall CE Primary School. The school takes pride in its role in bringing music to the community, organising a collaborative concert annually where other local schools come together and share their musical talents, as well as taking part in the nationwide Young Voices events each year. We recognise the importance of music as a tool for expression, self-regulation, mindfulness and a huge range of other vital purposes as we move through life, and as such, Music is deemed an extremely critical part of our school curriculum. We are committed to the delivery of high quality Music education across our school.
