Killinghall CofE Primary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

'Parents and teachers ‘working for the benefit of our children’.

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Killinghall CofE Primary School is a friendly and active group made up of parents, carers, and staff. We work together to support the school community and enrich the educational experience of all children at the school. Every parent and carer is automatically a member of the PTA – we welcome everyone’s involvement, big or small.

Meet the Team

Our Mission

Our goal is to create a strong partnership between families and the school. We raise funds for equipment, activities, and events that benefit the children, and we organise fun, inclusive events that bring the whole school community together.

What We Do

The PTA helps by:

  • Organising fundraising events such as fairs, discos, raffles, and cake sales

  • Supporting school initiatives and providing extra resources

  • Building a sense of community among families and staff

Upcoming Events

  • PTA Summer Fair – July, 2pm to 4pm (date tbc), Killinghall Cricket Club

  • Year 5 Class Bake Sale – Friday 6th June, 3:30pm, in the playground

  • Year 6 Class Bake Sale – Friday 20th June, 3:30pm, in the playground

  • End of Term Discos – Tuesday 15th July, 5-6pm (EY/KS1), 6-7pm (KS2), in the school hall

We’re always updating our events calendar, so keep an eye on the school newsletter and the PTA posters by the school gate and main entrance.

Code of Conduct

Our PTA is committed to working respectfully and inclusively. We follow a PTA Code of Conduct that sets out the values and behaviours expected of all members. This ensures our meetings and activities are welcoming, constructive, and in the best interest of the school community.

How You Can Help

There are lots of ways to get involved – no matter how much time you have:

  • Attend meetings and share ideas

  • Volunteer at events

  • Help with planning or behind-the-scenes tasks

  • Donate items or services for raffles and stalls

  • Utilise the Fundraise & Recycle bin at the entrance to the school - the weight of items donated equates to money for the PTA at the end of each term

Even a small contribution makes a big difference.

The Parents Lottery

Killinghall School is now signed up with the Parents Lottery, a fun way of supporting the school and being in with a chance to win up to £25,000 every month! For every £1 ticket, 60p goes directly to the school.

  • Search 'Killinghall'

  • Click on 'Buy Tickets'

  • Choose how you would like to pay (recurring or on-off payment)

The Giving Machine

There are over 2000 retailers who will donate cash to our school at no additional cost to you – including John Lewis, ebay, Boden, Groupon, Sports Direct, Boots, Pets at Home, Decathlon, Next and M&S.

Click on www.thegivingmachine.co.uk

  • Click on the ‘Members’ tab at the top.
  • Click the ‘Join in’ tab at the top and then sign up by clicking on ‘Join as a Giver’.
  • Choose your cause: Type ‘Killinghall CE Primary School’ in the search bar.
  • Click on ‘Killinghall CE Primary’ in the Matching Search Results.
  • Click on *Join & Support
  • Complete Your Details
  • Once your registration is complete please install the Shop&Give reminder by clicking on ‘Get Shop&Give’. This is really important as, whenever you visit participating retailers, a prompt will pop up in the top right hand corner of the screen to remind you that a donation can be made when you purchase from that store. The prompt will tell you how much will be donated if you make a purchase and you then click on the prompt so that the donation can be issued at the checkout.

For every purchase you make through The Giving Machine, the school will receive a small (usually a %) donation.

This really is a fabulous way to raise funds and we look forward to your support in this. You could even send this letter to friends and family members and ask them to sign up to support us too!
