HLTA

Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Killinghall CE Primary School

Grade F SCP 9-13

We are seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing and experienced HLTA to join our vibrant and welcoming team at Killinghall CE Primary School. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to helping every child succeed – particularly those who are vulnerable and require additional support. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality support and fostering a positive learning environment for our children.

We are looking for someone who is flexible, adaptable and nurturing. Someone who is energetic, passionate and able to 'bring about the best' for all members of our community. We encourage our staff to ignite the individual lights within each child. Ultimately, we want our staff to live out our school vision and to ‘strive, share and shine’.

The position is ideal for an experienced HLTA or a qualified teacher looking for a change from regular classroom practice.

Responsibilities

As HLTA you will:

  • Plan and deliver cover lessons when a teacher is out on a course or has leadership time.
  • Plan and deliver interventions for pupils across the school who require targeted support; this ranges from pupils with special educational needs to pupils who currently need additional support with their mental health. You will work closely with the SENDCo and other specialists to look at identified needs and deliver this.
  • Act as family liaison – you will work to support families who are in need of additional support. Ensuring we continue to forge positive, trusting relationships so that children attend school regularly.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and respected.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support the overall development and well-being of our children.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance practice and stay abreast of educational trends and best practices.

We can offer you:

· A bright future with professional development opportunities to enhance your career.

· A committed, genuinely supportive team – all keen to work together and live out our vision together.

· Amazing children to work with – who we believe CAN achieve great things.

· A friendly, happy school with a commitment to knowing each member of the school community and the part they play.

This is a full-time, term-time only post; 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.
