Welcome to Killinghall Church of England Primary

Welcome to Killinghall Church of England Primary, a nurturing place where we embrace the spirit of community and learning, rooted in the vision of 'we strive, we share,  we shine'. As a Church of England primary school, our foundation is deeply grounded in faith, compassion and academic excellence, instilling in our pupils the belief that effort is the key to unlocking their true potential. We believe in nurturing not only the minds but also the hearts of our young learners, fostering an environment where they can grow, learn and truly shine. Our vision is inspired by the guiding words found in the Bible verse:

Jesus said 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’

John 8:12

We celebrate Jesus as the Light of the World—a beacon that illuminates the path of discovery for our children, cultivating not only knowledgeable minds but resilient spirits. At Killinghall CE Primary, we celebrate the growth mindset, recognising that intelligence and abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work. Our committed staff, supportive community and our school vision converge to create an educational journey where each child is encouraged to strive for their personal best, share their unique gifts with others and ultimately shine brightly in the world.

We are proud of our school and we hope you can see why.

Mrs Besharati

    Tomorrow
Good Evening Everyone, We are aiming for a 'normal' return to school tomorrow with usual before and after school clubs running. Could children still bring in an additional pair of outdoor shoes to wear at break times, this helps to prevent the salt and grit on our carpet areas. See you all tomorrow. Mrs Besharati

    Tomorrow
School will be open tomorrow. We aim to have a delayed start to allow enough time for safe travel for our staff and families. Children can arrive to school at the gate on Otley Road from 10:00am. Thank you to the site staff who have created pathways for the children. It is still very icy on the roads and paths, so please take care when walking or driving. We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Please remember change of footwear!

    School Closure
Dear Parents/Carers, Despite numerous attempts with NYC to get Crag Lane gritted, it has not been done as of 7:00am this morning. Local roads and paths are too dangerous to travel on and we have had to make the decision to close our school to keep everyone safe and prevent any accidents. Teachers will send over some home learning ideas. It is there as support for your child, it is optional. Please take care if you do have to go out today, the freezing temperatures mean that little will change in the icy conditions. Thank you for your continued support and understanding. Mrs Besharati

    School Closure
Unfortunately, following local advise, we have had to make the decision to close our school today for the safety of children and staff. The closure of Kex Gill has made many side roads impassable. Some staff have attempted the journey and have got stuck, so please do take care. Teachers will send a message to parents by 11am with some suggested online learning that children can complete today. This is optional and is there to support. We are hopeful that the smaller roads and paths are gritted and safe for tomorrow. Thank you for your understanding.
