Spirituality

Our definition of spirituality comes from discussions with a range of people within our school community. We recognise that it is difficult to put into words what ‘spirituality’ actually is because it can be a unique feeling to each individual or a linked to personal experience. Spirituality changes within people during their lifetime. It changes as life circumstances change. Spirituality is not the same as having a religion or faith; a person can be spiritual without having a particular faith.

At Killinghall CE Primary, pupils and adults benefit from a variety of experiences that support personal growth. We focus on looking inwardly, outwardly and reflecting on the positive impact we can make in the world.

Our working definition of spirituality is:

We reflect on the wow, ow and now moments in our journey of life.

Wow – those special moments in our lives when we have been truly amazed.

Ow – those times in our lives that have been difficult.

Now – staying in the moment and thinking about what is happening around us now. Taking time to pause and be still.
